Metallica(メタリカ)のニューアルバム「Hardwired…To Self-Destruct」が２０１６年１１月１８日にリリースされましたが、個人的には凄く気に入って良く聴いています♪
「Hardwired…To Self-Destruct」全体のテーマに散りばめられている聖書やギリシア神話、クトゥルフ神話などの引用がとてもカッコよく使われている印象を受けました。
そんなMetallica(メタリカ)のニューアルバム「Hardwired…To Self-Destruct」に収録されている「Atlas, Rise!」という曲でも、ギリシア神話に登場するゼウス達との戦いに敗れた両腕と頭で天を支えるティターン神属のアトラスが登場しています。
ティーターン神族がゼウス達との戦いに敗れた後、世界の西の果てで天空を背負うという役目を負わされることとなったそうです。
この役目がアトラスにとって、苦痛を伴うものだったというそんな物語が「Atlas, Rise!」で表現されていますね。
